Our Lady of the Golden Heart or also known as Our Lady of Beauraing were apparitions of our Lady in a small Belgium town that started in November of 1932 and ended in January of 1933. She appeared a total of 33 times to 5 children, Fernande Voisin (15), Andree Degimbre (14), Gilberte Voisin (13), Albert Voisin (11) and Gilberte Degeimbre (9). They first saw her as they were walking to get a friend from their local Catholic boarding school. There she was in long white robes, had deep blue eyes and a rosary hung from her arm. Initially the children’s parents and the Mother Superior of the school did not believe their story. They ordered the children not to return to the school, the children obeyed but were greatly saddened they would not see Our Lady. News spread around the small town and 150 people showed up to see the apparitions. The Mother Superior tried to send them home but knew that it wouldn’t work. She allowed the children to come back and the apparitions continued.
The Blessed Mother urged that people pray much, that a chapel be built, and that people come there in pilgrimage. During the last apparition on January 3, 1933, Our Lady stated: “I will convert sinners. I am the Mother of God, the Queen of heaven.” She revealed her Golden Heart and asked Fernande Voisin to sacrifice himself to her. Twenty thousand people were present that day.
The Feast day is August 22nd which is the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary also known as the Queenship of Mary.
