This beautiful gemstone rosary bracelet features Moonstone beads as the paters and Ocean Jasper beads as the aves. Each of our stretch and wrap rosary bracelets is a full rosary.  Small rosary bracelets do not include the first three aves. Each bracelet also includes a “bookmark” crucifix medal.  This medal is moveable and can help you keep track of where you are at in your rosary as you pray throughout your day.

Each bracelet is strung on durable elastic making it easy to stretch and wrap around your wrist without fear of snapping it.

Saint Mary of Egypt's story is a great story of forgiveness, mercy and redemption. Brought up in a pious home she left it at 12 and took to a life of prostitution. One day she was traveling from Alexandria to Jerusalem when she got mixed into a crowd that was celebrating the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. There she was swept away in the large group towards the church where they were going to venerate the true cross. The group entered the church but when Mary tried she could not cross the doorway despite her earnest attempts. There she broke down in remorse for the life she lived. She saw a statue of the Virgin Mary and asked the Blessed Virgin to help her enter the church so she too could venerate the relics. In return she would repent and renounce the ways of the world. She was then able to enter the church, venerated the relic and then returned outside to the statue to pray for guidance. It was there she heard a voice that said to cross the Jordan River and find rest. Mary set out that night towards the Jordan River and entered a church dedicated to Saint John the Baptist and received Communion. The next day she crossed the river and went into the desert where she lived alone for 47 years. Then while making his Lenten retreat Father Zosimus found the hermitess. She asked him to return to the banks of the Jordan on Holy Thursday the following year and to bring her Communion. True to his word, the next year he brought her the Eucharist. He went back the following year to find her and found her deceased with a note saying she died a year ago, on the very night she received Communion. Saint Mary of Egypt's feast day is April 1st.

Why Saint Mary: The colors in the rosary bracelet reminded us of the different aspects of Saint Mary’s life. We have darker colors showing us those places that need healing, the lighter colors reflecting Christ’s light, and tans and browns calling to mind the desert we all need to retreat into sometimes to find rest.
