Scholastica | Gemstone Decade

Little is known of Scholastica, except that her piety was exceptional. Under her brother's direction she founded a Benedictine community of nuns that flourished in number. Because of their religious vocations, Benedict and Scholastica were accustomed to visit only once a year. On this day they exchanged loving words of grace and virtue in such deep spiritual conversation. St. Benedict is celebrated on his feast day of July 11 and Scholastica on February 10.
