About the Namesake:
Esther was a young Jewish woman who became queen of Persia without revealing her Jewish identity, until the moment her people's survival depended on it. When a plot arose to destroy the Jewish people, Esther risked her own life to appear before the king unsummoned, an act that could have cost her everything, and pleaded for her people. Her courage saved them.
